Abstract

On 29 December 2024, President Jimmy Carter died at the age of 100. Carter is not remembered as a champion of NASA; no astronauts flew during his time as President. However, he was responsible for saving the Space Shuttle program and his words of peace and hope were carried by the Voyager space probe.
