Abstract

Susan Kilrain (born Susan Leigh Still) is an American aerospace engineer, US Navy officer, and retired NASA Astronaut. She was the youngest person to pilot a Space Shuttle, flying on STS-83 and STS-94. The only sister among nine siblings, during her childhood she expressed an interest in being an Astronaut. She started flying in high school and completed training to be a private pilot in her senior year.
