Abstract
Before the rise of the Internet, newsletters prepared by consultants were a key source of information for anyone needing to know what was happening inside an industry, inside the halls of government, and the policy discussions and politics that Washington DC is known for. The July-August 1983 issue of Woman-to-Woman in Washington (Vol V, issue 23) featured a very personal, firsthand account that celebrated the launch of the first female astronaut by the United States. Anyone who has ever attended a launch can relate to her coverage. The following was provided to Quest by the author’s son, Mike.
