Abstract

The fiery Italian writer and journalist Oriana Fallaci (1929-2006) was a darling of the 1960s counterculture. Although she held strong leftwing views and was a lifelong feminist, nothing highlighted her contradictory nature more than the unlikely bond she formed with the macho NASA astronauts while reporting on the Apollo Moon project.
